The MOONDROP S8 crossover has been redesigned. The Sonion37 series dual driver with added back volume, the Knowles SWFK dual high, in her most crucial midrange is 2 of our proprietary customized soft ears D-MID-B dual drivers. The triple crossover changes are tuned with precision for audible prominence.

Moondrop selected an extra back volume version of their distinctive vented bass receiver, so the diaphragm is more "Free To Move" than a typical closed balanced armature unit while still being less distorted than a normal vented driver. It gives S8 a deep bass response similar to a dynamic driver, but with faster transients. The Knowles SWFK provides an excellent treble tone with its low distortion and high cutoff frequency and it provides a flat, smooth and detailed treble tone under the aid of an adequate circuit and become the hardware fundamentals for S8’s eminent treble performance.

As a result of the persistence on distinct midrange tuning carried down from the previous A8 model, Moondrop designed our own mid-balanced armature driver. This driver has extremely low distortion and a frequency response that is highly compliant with VDSF Target response. We enhance its performance with circuitry that is easier to drive and produces a more natural sound. S8 has a mild, gentle vocal and mid-high performance, and more natural tone and sound imaging than A8.

Each set of S8 was handmade by a trained craftsman from the ground up. Every step of the production process, including PCB soldering, wiring assembly, fabrication, and polishing, is subject to a high level of quality control. We define craftsmanship by such a standard. It's easy to tell by looking at her clear housing with barely any imperfections. There is no limit to such pursuits when it comes to crafting. Every set of S8 has gone through 4 acoustic tests to ensure their sound consistency.

MOONDROP S8 uses a 2-pin 0.78mm universal connector, which means it will work with most IEM cables. You can easily upgrade. Additionally, the 2-pin 0.78mm connector on S8 is also compatible with MOONDROP Bluetooth cable (with built-in microphone), allowing you to choose multiple options with different uses.
